Happy new bridge!

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin made a trip by rail from Kerch to Taman, the press service of the President of the Russian Federation reports. He made part of the way through the Kerch Strait in the driver’s cab, and then moved into one of the cars, where he talked with the workers and engineers involved in the construction of the bridge. Arriving in Taman, the head of state took part in the teleconference mode at the ceremony of departure of the first passenger train from St. Petersburg to Sevastopol.

Vladimir Putin congratulated the audience on the launch of the Crimean bridge: “You have shown with your work, your talent, perseverance and determination that Russia is able to carry out such world-class infrastructure projects. After all, this is the largest bridge not only in Russia, but in terms of length the largest bridge in Europe. And you showed that we can carry out such large-scale projects on the basis of our own technological base. This instills, without any exaggeration, confidence in almost every one of us that we and other projects of this kind can and will certainly be done in the future, the president said.
